I produced this short public service announcement ahead of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032) to build awareness among librarians about facilitating access to Indigenous knowledge records, technologies, and media that are essential for language vitality.
Presentation: Information Retrieval in Environmental Science
How do search systems and users within the field of environmental science work together to construct queries and identify relevant results? This presentation presents my recommendations for teaching search skills to undergraduates who are entering the field of environmental science, and for ways to improve information retrieval systems for users in this field.
Video Tutorial
This library tutorial helps learners differentiate between stages in scholarly publishing including preprint, postprint, and ahead-of-print. It highlights tensions between the potential to speed up science offered by preprint servers and the quality assured through the peer-review process. I produced and edited the tutorial using Reaper, iMovie, and Canva.
